See the Oregon Trail in Topeka

Located on the Governor's Mansion park, MacLennan Park north of Sixth Street and Fairlawn. The trail enters the park about 50 yards south of Cedar Crest Drive on Fairlawn and is marked by a dip in the fence line and a culvert on the walking trail. You can see several tracks that the pioneers used as they moved about to avoid mudholes and ruts. The trail can be traced with sometimes dramatic swales, such as the one located 100 yards south of the Mansion on the west side of the driveway. We've always called it the trails at Cedar Crest...our son made several types of bird/duck houses to put out on the trails and around the ponds for his Eagle Scout project oh about 20 years ago :)
