What to do in Boston if it rains - in October

Three of us are going to Boston and it's suppose to rain. Besides shopping and the Musiums, what other things are there to do in Boston?

We are adventurous and this trip to Boston was 'to do something different'. The rain is a real Downer! so ANY help/suggestions would be both helpful and welcome!

Since you know about potential rain ahead of time, don't let it deter you from what you had planned. Take your jacket and umbrella and take a tour of the Freedom Trail. Stroll Beacon Hill, where the Boston aristocracy lives. Window shop the boutiques and art galleries of Newbury Street. Go to Harvard Square and Yard. Eat some cannolli in the North End. Don't let a little water get you down!

You grab and umbrella and you walk the freedom trail or take a duck tour (they have roofs and plastic sides that come down in inclement weather)..

It's rain, not a monsooon, tsunami or a hurricane. What were you planning to do if it didn't rain? Chances are you can do most of it with the minor addition of a coat and an umbrella.

No amount of fretting will change the weather so just prepare and get on with your trip and have fun.

why would rain make a difference? do what you had planned, but if you are allergic to some water, there's plenty of indoor shopping (Copley, Prudential, Cambridgeside) in the city, take a show or cinema, visit museums, galleries, visit USS Constitution, JFK Museum, take a trip to Salem, visit Beacon Hill, North End, Harvard.............

There's no shortage of things to do in this wonderful city - rain should not be such a downer.

If you are adventurous, rain shouldn't be a deterrent! Just be prepared and have fun with it.

Add the New England Aquarium to your list of indoor possibilities.
