Ideas: winter weekend drive trip out of Boston

Anyone have ideas on a nice weekend trip outside of Boston in February?

Natural / Country / Physical Pursuits preferred.

Is it worth going to Mt Washington in Feb?

Hi,

How about the Berkshires? The town of Lenox is a great place to decompress from the city. You could visit a spa or do some cross-country skiing, AND enjoy some off-season rates. Check out TA for cool B&B's.

How about southwest NH, Monadnock Region, lots of nice hiking, Granite Gorge for snowtubing, rail trails for cross country skiing, only 2 hours from Boston, nice b and bs, great restaurants. Check out the Keene NH area.

Loon Mountain is one of the closer and nicer ski areas to Boston, straight north on I93 about 2 hours.

Another option is Southern Vermont, the Brattleboro area. It is 2 hours from Boston on Rt. 2 and very beautiful and there is lots to do if you want (or nothing if you prefer).
