Hotel Recommendations/Things to Do

We are considering a weekend trip to Harpers Ferry later this month. We would appreciate hotel recommendations. We would visit the Harpers Ferry National Park but would like to know about other things to do in the area. Thanks.

You can hike the Loudoun Heights trail. There's good views and and in some cases you can still see the stone outlines of gun emplacements.

You can go tubing in the river. Someone there can tell you where to contact a company renting tubes.

Can't help with a place to stay.

Here's a link with some ideas.

Taking a walk/hike on the famed Appalachian Trail would be my first choice!

I agree with taking a bit of a walk on the App Trail-definitely worth getting your views from here, plus you then can boast that you hike it-at least some of it-lol. The tubing on the river sounds fun, though we did not see any of that when we visited.

Shepherdstown isn't far and has fun shops and restaurants. Shepherd University is there, and The Bavarian Inn is a nice place to stay and it also has a restaurant.
