Breakfast in San Francisco

I am staying on Geary Street and will be in search of a couple of preferred breakfast locations for Sunday morning. In search of quality and need NOT be within close proximity of Geary St. Have trawled back through some old forum entries and have some vague pointers.

Can a 'foodie' or two point me in the right direction please?

I do need to get this right.

Restaurants serving Breakfast around Union Square (Updated March 2014) is in the TOP QUESTION on the right side of this forum page

Geary is a street that runs for miles so it is hard to suggest restaurants.

If you go to yelp.com and type in breakfast near your location (address) you can read reviews

You asked about "proximity".

In the USA, it is customary to specify "...I am staying on Geary Street and (WHAT - the cross street)". In many cities, some major streets/roads go for miles and miles through the whole town.

Dottie's on 6th St. or Mama's at Washington Square are probably the two most popular for big breakfasts. Pinecrest Diner on Geary for a real diner experience. Lucque's at the Chancellor Hotel gets good mention as well. (I'm a coffee only type so I have no personal experience. A big brunch and I go back to bed.)

Not in close proximity - Foreign Cinema. Anywhere you go, you'll want a reservation, unless you want to wait in line.
