Place to stay with a kitchen

Hi

Plan to come to the San Fran area for a week in July or Aug 2014.

Need suggestions for a place to stay with 2 bedrooms and a kitchen.

It is for 2 adults and 2 girls age 12 and 15.

Would be great to be in San Fran but would be ok with outside San Fran and close to a BART.

Thanks in advance for all suggestions.

Here is a good option that offers two bedrooms and a Kitchen in South San Francisco, access to the main city by many options, including the Hotel's own shuttle...

You may want to look into the top question about hotels for 5 or more people since some are suites. tripadvisor.com/Travel-g60713-c187982/San-Fr…

Otherwise I'd look using VRBO or airbnb since they are sites for vacation rentals where you can get two bedroom places. Please see the top question in the right sidebar "Neighborhoods to stay: vacation rentals in San Francisco."

Have a good trip.

And if you go the vrbo route then always come back here with the address of each property you're considering so we can provide feedback on the area and its convenience.

You do NOT want to stay outside the city and commute to your vacation. We have this discussion here a lot and there are so many good options in the city that it's senseless to waste time looking at out of town options if the purpose of your trip is to visit SF. Besides, you likely commute to your job -- do you want to do the same to your vacation? Finally, BART isn't cheap and for 4 people fares can add up.

There are a couple of suite hotels in the city: Suites at Fisherman's Wharf and Cow Hollow Suites. Otherwise, good advise from holodan.

Sigh, the tourist from Tustin I think may not be aware that South San Francisco is its own city and not the southern part of San Francisco. The Hotels' own shuttle drops people at the Airport or a BART station and as White Dahlia and Holodan who actually live in SF mentioned, is going to add about $25 bucks roundtrip plus about 45 minutes to your commute.

Please stay in SF to see SF and we can all help you.

#1 is flat out wrong. From the link provided in that post:

"The Residence Inn San Francisco, California Airport hotel offers a complimentary shuttle to the nearby SFO Airport and subway station. "

How is #1 wrong? Beer said there is a shuttle and so does the link. The OP asked to be close to BART and the shuttle goes to the airport. Seems like problem solved. Where is the controversy?

ugy ... what is incorrect about #1 is this statement: "access to the main city by many options, including the Hotel's own shuttle..."

The hotel shuttle does not go "to the main city."

I just took it to mean shuttle to the BART, not to the City. That would be a great deal if true.
