Union square to Sunnyvale

Hi,

We want to make a day trip to Sunnyvale to see some friends. We have been told that we will have to take a Caltrain to Mountain view and from there a friend will pick us up.

I just wanted to know if this is the best way to do it. Also, is it safe to come back at night..say 9-10 pm? Or even after that?

Please suggest the easiest way. TIA!

P.S. we are tourists without a car :)

Without a car, Caltrain, I think, is your only choice. If your friend is willing to pick you up at the nearest Caltrain stop, then good. They will know better than we.

I don't know the Caltrain schedules.

But here they are.

Enjoy your visit.

Yes that's the best way, probably the only way. Yes it's safe coming back at night, just make sure you are fully aware of the train schedule.

You can MUNI or a taxi to he Cal Train station in SF, but definitely a taxi for the ride back to Union Square at night.

I see no problem taking MUNI back from the train station at any hour.

You could also take BART to Millbrae and change to Caltrain

Thankyou for your suggestions! We had a very comfortable ride in the Caltrain. Took the Muni to the station and a cab back to the hotel.

I was worried because we saw a lot of intimidating people in the financial district a couple of days back. Thankfully the station was very safe and we had no problem with the ride.

Did they subvert you to anarchy or give you a giant loan on your home?

Anarchists? In the financial district? That would be a new one.

The homeless definitely need the state.
