Westin St Francis glass elevators

Does anyone know if the glass elevators are just in the tower part of the hotel? Does the older landmark building have a regular elevator?

I just read about the glass elevators...I’m traveling with a family member who is prone to dizziness/vertigo so this isn’t ideal. Wondering if we can avoid the issue by staying in the landmark section? Thanks

I have the same problem. I just face the door when I ride glass elevators.

When I saw the title of the post I thought the OP was going to complain that you can no longer use the glass elevators for their soaring view without a key card. It's a shame: it used to be one of my favorite free things to do with visitors.

Yes, for the older “tower,” fronting Powell St, there are three banks of totally enclosed elevators - the main bank (6?) off of the lobby, then two separate banks, to the north, in separate locations.

Nothing to see.

I do the same as poster # 3 - face the door and close my eyes, afraid of heights.
