Whale Watching....

Hi All,

My husband and I are planning to go on a whale watch when in Maui. I need to make the reservations, but am not sure of timing. He is a pro photographer and plans to take his equipment with him. We plan on going w/ Pacific Whale Foundation out of Lahaina Harbor, but are not sure if we should book the 7:00 AM departure on the Ocean Explorer or the 8:00 AM departure on the Ocean Quest.

Any comments on either boat (size crew, etc)? Or comments on how crowded one departure time versus another would be?

Thanks again for your time,

Nancy

Aloha,

We go with PWF often I would suggest the 8am because it is 6:50am right now and the sun is just starting to come up over the mountains. Plus I suggest you guys go up to the top deck for better viewing.

I also suggest you guys go out on a smaller boat like Captain Steve's. I have a lot of pictures with those little raft type boats in them.

May take more than one whale watch for that great breach to happen.
