Eating out from Sheraton Poipu

We will be staying at the Sheraton in Poipu. Are the any restaurants within walking distance or would we need to get taxis.

There are many. Roy's, Keoki's, Plantation Garden, Puka Dog, Red Salt to name a few. Do you have a car?

Here's a map.

Lots of good choices here--about a 10-15 min walk from the Sheraton. Plantation Garden is also good--about 5 min.

Aren't you renting a car?

Definitely get a rental vehicle from the Airport. You will require it the entire time.......dropping off at LIH upon departure. The taxi to and from the Airport alone is close to a week's rental.

There are many walk to restaurant choices in the area near the Sheraton.......but the vehicle is key for beyond those few dinners......

You are going to want to explore outside the boundaries of the Kauai Sheraton.

I understand you might be hestitant to rent a car since you are from the UK but honestly the driving around the island is easy. One highway. You would be stuck in Poipu your entire stay and taxis are scarce and very expensive. Rent a car through a company in the UK for insurance reasons and licensings issues. You will not regret it.

Lots of restaurants close by but you really need a car for Kauai

Aloha from Kaua'i!

I live here in the Po'ipu area and would also say that you really do need a car in order to experience Kaua'i.

Our public transportation is not geared to visitors and taxis are very expensive and infrequent - you can pay for "tours" that pick you up in vans and take you to certain locations - but in order to see this little island you really need to get in a car and drive around yourself.

Our road system is so easy that people become confused - because it is SO simple - one main highway that goes from one side to the other - very easy to negotiate.

You are going to be limiting yourself so very much if you do not rent a car - please reconsider.
