Janet's recent reference to the Koloa Library in another post thread make me think to post this.....
For all you visitors who love to read on the beach but hate lugging books in your suitcase - and even more hate paying $16 for a paperback - here's a terrific suggestion.....
Joining the Hawaii State Library System costs next to nothing! (I want to say $5 for one year or $10 for 3 years but it's been too long and I can't remember!)
One of my prized possessions is my "Hawaii Library Card"!
It's yet another cool way to experience the island and one of the best "bargains" we've ever found. We use the library in Koloa or in Kapaa depending on where we are staying and the outside book drops are just another stop on our way to the airport on our way home!
You just need your driver's license and you can take out as many books as you wish. It's always one of our fun "stops" on our first day on island!
And if it's a rainy day and young ones are antsy - what a better way to pass an hour or so!
