My wife & I are going to be staying in the Poipu Beach area on Kauai. Looking for good food, especially breakfast. Any ideas?
I meant the Sunshine breakfast package cost more for us at the Hyatt. It was a lot more than what we wanted to pay. They would offer breakfast package for 2 and we have 4 (with our boys), so for us the cost for the sunshine/breakfast package/add on wasn't worth it for us, they say in the package that when you stay 5 nights and purchase the sunshine breakfast package you get a free night, but honestly the cost of the breakfast package for us was near 400 bucks for the 2 of us, and for that, that's like paying for an extra night. we opted for the 7 nights with no breakfast, was less expensive for us.
Anyhow, the food suggestions are wonderful and I certainly thank each one of you.
Be ready to read more questions from me in the future! :-)
Thanks for the info. Now that we are back we found the Beach House to be over rated. Nice location but the food was average & bland. Roy's gave us the best meal of our vacation.Edited: 5:56 pm, February 04, 2012
We agree with many of the dinning suggestions, but have to disagree with Dani's. We ate the worst lunch there in recent memory. My Ter. Beef was dry & tough (only about half was chewable). My wife's Lemon Chicken was quite greasy, and the rice (who messes up rice?) had a nasty petroleum taste. We'll bypass Dani's next time.Edited: 6:16 pm, February 04, 2012

Well, we've only ever had breakfast at Dani's and it has always been great, so I have no idea on their lunches.
For lunch in Lihue we either wind up at Duke's Barefoot Bar on Kalapaki Beach or Hamura Saimin usually.
Aloha from Kaua'i!
Dani's has always been one of my top 3 favorite local spots in Lihu'e (Tip Top Cafe and Hamura's Saimin being the others) - I've always had great breakfasts there and their saimin at lunchtime is also ono!
Sorry you didn't enjoy it.
