We stayed in the Pali Kai cottage on the cliffs several years ago and absolutely loved it. This particular cottage rents for about $1100 a week. We got highly discounted golf at the Marriott courses and access to the Marriott amenities. We still feel that it was the best vacation location we ever had, anywhere. We are planning to return in May to celebrate our 30th anniversary. I do not recall airplane noises nor any issue with smoke from cruise ships. I do recall sitting on the lanai each morning, drinking coffee, and watching several middle-aged men out there surfing. It was a hoot and we just loved it.

We have booked a week in late May at Pali Kai Cottage 12b. This will be a fabulous vacation.

Walk by there every day......and there are vacation rental signs in some of the windows.

Nice view overlooking kalapaki beach, nawiliwili harbor, and Mt. Haupu.

Kick back and watch the surfers and stand up paddle boarders, and boogie boarding from on high.

With that view, there is also the mega NCL ship that comes in on thurs. and leaves on friday....as well as the matson, and harbor area for shipping.

Saturday the matson container barge is in brnging in cargo, and loading up for Oahu. But from the bluff, it might not be any big deal.

The other plus, it is just a short walk down to Kalapaki beach, and even shorter once the elevator up and down to the beach is back in operation.

As to staying there, Just kind of depends on the individual......we were actually looking at possibly living up there, even tho we are across the road from the marriot and totally happy at Banyon Harbor.

However, most of the few units up there are vacatiion rentals and not long term leases....so we will stay put.

Looking at the photos of the units that are vacation rentals, well, they certainly are impressive.

We have been informed that Marriott now charges $60 for a week of resort access. The beach is free, but pool, towels, fitness center, etc. are part of the $60 fee. It was free when we were there several years ago.
