Hanalei Bay Kayak and Snorkel tour through viator??

Hello!

We're looking to do a short kayak tour, near the northshore (we're staying at a Puu Poa condo. We found this 3 hour Hanalei Bay Kayak and Snorkel tour with viator, and are wondering if anyone has done this tour and what the company who runs it is called?

Thanks in advance!

Judging from the picture in the link you supplied, this looks like Kayak Kauai's trip.

www.kayakkauai.com

The "Blue Lagoon" tour. Looks to be a couple of bucks cheaper on their website too. FWIW, I'm pretty sure the "bay reef lagoon" they mention is Hideaways beach which is actually the beach right below your condo so if the snorkeling is what your are after, just walk down the path for free.

Appears that this is the tour with Kayak kauai that you can book cheaper directly with them:

As an aside, I've never heard Hideaways referred to as "Blue Reef Lagoon"

Looks like someone already beat me to the punch :)

Thanks! Perhaps we will look fora different kayak tour, since we are right near that beach to snorkel anyways, do you recommend any tours (can be a kayak and snorkel too) that would be good and aren't very long?the appeal to this one was that it was on,y a 3 hour tour. We are Not experience kayakers, so don't want it to be too much.

Thanks again,

Take one of the tours on the Wailua River. About 1hr or so paddle on the river then a nice hike to a waterfall for a swim and lunch, hike back to the boats and then another easy paddle back down the river. Very easy paddle, no experience necessary. No snorkeling, but the waterfall is very nice. Just do a search for Wailua River Tour or Secret Falls Tour and several companies will show up.

Even if you don't have a lot of experience, you could easily kayak the Hanalei River on your own - it's very calm and you can go as far as you want. There area a number of companies in Hanalei that rent kayaks.

The Wailua River tour mentioned by the last poster is quite a ways from where you are staying.

Never heard of Hideaways , or any place on Kauai for that matter, called "Blue Reef Lagoon". Sounds like some sort of advertising ploy to make it sound more alluring as in a South Pacific atoll lagoon.

Thanks adkboards, we're looking into Wailua River tours now as well!

DesertBeachLover... only two in our group of 4 has been kayaking before, do you still think if we rented kayaks and went through Hanalei River on our own we'd be ok? We'd just discussed possibly doing this!

The first time my wife and I ever kayaked was on the Wailua River in Kauai and we did it on our own with just a few instructions from the company we rented kayaks from. The Hanalei River is so calm and easy to paddle on that you can practice right around where you get on the river for a bit before heading up stream. The nice thing with that river is that there is really no place to get in trouble. It's not real deep, the current is not strong. Only reall difficulty is a few spots where you head into the wind.

If you are coordinated at all, you shouldn't have a problem figuring it out on your own and most of the companies will at least show you the basics.
