Haena vacation

Does anyone have any experience with VRBO # 211846 ?

I'd make this a "clickable" link but I'm on my phone!

Wondering if this area, which I believe to be next door to HCR (?), is a good area for a toddler...as in if the beach area in front of this rental would be safe. I understand there are other nearby safe swimming beaches nearby like Ke'e. Also, is this a remote area that would be too remote to do a sunset/dinner cruise from another part of the island and then return to I'm the evening afterward?

Any insight would be great!

Personally, I'd take beachfront on the north shore every single time over a house with a pool on the south shore, but a lot of it depends on your priorities. As others have noted there are plenty of houses on the north shore on swimmable beaches. I suspect you wouldn't miss a pool at all.

Wouldn't want to pay more than $4-5000 for a week. Although this VRBO lists price range high I spoke directly to the owner and he said he'd do it for 7 nights for right around $4000

The pool is pretty important, husband is a BK double amputee and a pool for swimming is easier than getting in and out of the ocean.

I'm starting to wonder if our budget and desires are unaligned.

Sure! Actually, there are 4. These are beachfront with a pool.

Sandy Beach House! I love this house and we will stay there very soon (as soon as I can find another couple to split this with).

Hale Luana, right on Baby's Beach. They are updating the photos but it's great location on a very quiet beach.

Hale Ma'ana Hou, also on Baby's Beach but a few houses down. Access to Baby's Beach from a private entrance on the beach side.

Waiohai Beach House, right next door to the Waiohai Marriott and right on Poipu Beach.

There are more houses in Poipu with a pool with ocean views or ocean front (no beach, but lava rock). The houses along Lawai Road will not have a beach. Parrish has their "pool" collection:

and "oceanfront" location:

They also have homes on the north shore:

Kauai rentals also has a fair number of homes on Lawai Road but no way to sort them. http://www.kauairentals.com

When my kids were smaller and I wanted a toddler friendly beach, we stayed in Hale Nai'a, still my favorite rental house on the island. Easy access to Baby's Beach. No pool but we never needed one. They tended to play with the hose on the lawn after an afternoon at the beach and we also bought a 'kiddie" pool at Wal-Mart when they were younger.

Thanks! I'll check out these links. I was able to check out one, a little higher than the hopeful 4-5000 range but maybe the others will fit the budget.

Thank you!
