Waikoloa Village condos

I'm thinking about booking a condo in Waikoloa Village. We've stayed in Kona our previous trips and want to be closer to the north beaches this time around. We are not much interested in nightlife, just want a clean, quiet place to stay. Any thoughts or feedback is appreciated.

There was a thread a couple of weeks back on Paniolo Greens condos, located in Waikoloa Village.

There is some info on the village and some feedback as well in the posts. You might find this helpful.

As an alternative, if you are comfortable renting through VRBO or Homeaway, there are some good condo deals in the Fairway Villas part of Waikoloa Resort. You can do a search for specific date availability of the condos. The Fairway Villas complex is a nice one, at a reasonable price.

And BTW, A-Bay beach(es), both public and Marriott were reopened when we were there on Sunday.

If the price is right it's OK. The lack of a decent place to eat out in the Village is annoying. It's windier than the resort area near the ocean. If price is the same as WBR -- the latter is more convenient.

Be careful what you rent there, Elima Lani and Fairway Terrace are very low-end condos in the village.
