Taxi & Shopping - Hilton Waikoloa

How much should we (2 of us) expect to pay for a taxi from the Kona Airport to the Hilton Waikoloa Village? Is there anywhere to eat and shop within walking distance from Hilton. We don't mind a bit of a walk(less than 2 miles).

Within a 2 mile walk you can got to Kings Shops and Queens Marketplace, as well as the Marriott for shopping, food and activities. There is a shuttle inside the resort, but not over to the next one.

KOA to Hilton is probably at least $50-$60 one way. If you wante to go to any beach besides A-Bay, you would need a cab ride to get to the Mauna Lani and Orchid beaches or Hapuna, Kua, etc. That would be impractical due to logisitics of getting a pickup established when you wanted to come back. If you can drive, renting a car for a day or few might be a good option.

Hounu is correct....$50 without tip. and their is a shuttle trolly in the resort that you can ride to all the shops.

I would get a car because to spend well over $100 in taxi is sort of a waste...and limits you form exploring this huge and interesting island
