Fossils??

I have a ten year old boy who would like to dig for fossils. I was wondering if anyone had any ideas on where to go. He was hoping to keep some, which rules out most state and federal property I believe. Thanks.

After some basic google searching, I saw on a fossil forum, a note about a huge but no longer in existance body of water that took up most of SW WY- Lake Gosiute. That google search lead me to this link which should get your started perhaps?

My wife has found seashells while riding in that part of the state, which kind of boggles my mind (a common state of affairs). This may also help:

The u-dig fossils of the Kemmerer area is where we went. We had a friend who had a digsite but it was near the Warfield's Fossil Safari. They seemed to be the best for a one time experience. http://www.fossilsafari.com

It was work, and it was hot and very dusty. But it was also fun to find some fish fossils and bring them home even if they weren't the greatest.
