Planning Ski/snowboarding trip for January, need some ideas

planning a trip with some buddies for january. Just trying to figure out if its better to stay at the mountain resort or stay in Jackson. If staying in Jackson, what is the best area to stay in to have some fun post riding?

For a true ski/snowboarding trip, I think you'll be happy at the village. There is plenty of apres ski bars/restaurants/music to take advantage of. Sure, you can always head into Jackson, but for the ski scene, which it sounds like you are after - I'd go w/Teton Village.

You'll want to check out the Mangy Moose, The Spur Bar and Restaurant, and maybe have dinner at Couloir one night. The Food Network named this place as one fo the Manliest Restaurants to eat at in the nation.. I have no idea why its considered so manley - but its a nice atmosphere, the trip up there in the dark via the gondy is fun and the food is excellent. All of those things really deter women lol.

We will be there also in January. We always stay at the Aspens, short ride to Teton Village and they have a shuttle that takes you, running all day. They are comfortable condos and they also have a convenience store at the bottom of the hill. We never rent a car, we take the bus into town and then ride the town shuttle around.

Enjoy!
