Birthday Cake and Sunday Brunch

We have a family get-together (20 people) planed for the 21st-23rd and I am trying to work out some details. I would love to hear suggestions on two items in particular:

-It is my Mom's 80th birthday celebration and I would like to have a really nice cake made for Saturday night. Any suggestions in the area? We will have some family driving up from Madison that could pick something Saturday afternoon.

-I want to find a really good Sunday brunch to wrap up the weekend....any suggestions there?

maybe you'll find something here:

We enjoy Paul Bunyan's, it's not for everyone but is a neat experience to consider. Look for 10 percent off coupons in the brochures/travel materials, too

If your Madison contingent has a Costco membership, they have great cakes and you can special order one for the occasion. I am not aware of a specialty bakery in the Dells other than what you can get at Walmart. Baraboo does have a couple of bakeries. Another idea could be an ice cream cake. The Dells has a Cold Stone Creamery and two DQs. Not sure if Culvers is doing the frozen custard cakes, but there are two Culvers in the Dells. If you are staying at one of the bigger resorts, it is possible that they may be able to accommodate your cake request.

As far as brunch, I'm not much help as we don't do those. House of Embers used to have a great one, but I can't find it on their menu now. You might want to check out Trappers Turn trappersturn.com/Dining/…Default.aspx
