Elopement & Packers Game - Nov 24th

Hey, my fiance & I are coming down for a week to take in a game and get married! Its just the two of us. We want to stay relatively busy and are wondering what the nightlife is like in GB and what fun things we could do during the day. We are from AB, Canada - diehard Packer fans - and our first time to Lambeau field. Any ideas & experiences would be great!

First, we're assuming you have your tickets and hotels lined up. Green Bay will have some nightlife, but it's not the feel of a large urban area. When are you coming? There are things to do such as the National Railroad Museum, but it's not necessarily a place you'd opt to spend a week at if it's winter. There are other small cities nearby such as Appleton, Oshkosh, Manitowoc Sturgeon Bay and Sheboygan, all within an hour drive. If you're here that long, consider driving to nearby areas, particularly Door County. It's the quiet season, but the natural beauty is still there. There will be some stores and restaurants the cater the the busy season tourists will still be open. Depending on your interests, you could also drive two hours the other way and see either Milwaukee or Madison.

There are plenty of other posts to read about things to do in Green Bay, but you'll at least want to tour Lambeau, see the Hall of Fame and spend time in the Packer Pro shop.

Take a couple days and drive to Mackinac Island, great place to visit for the two of you. The suggestion about Door County is also great. Spend the weekend in Green Bay for the game- take the stadium tour, take in a tailgate party at Green Bay Distillary or Anduzzi's, lunch at Chili John's but enoy the beautiful area outside the area for the rest of the week. Get your hotel room in green bay as soon as you can.

Lambeau, Door County and Mackinac Island. That could be the perfect trip. However, Mackinac in late November may not work well for them. It may be worth a stop but things really slow down after mid-October, the ferries have restricted crossing times and a lot of things close. For anyone else reading this, definitely consider if it's June-October.
