Ho Chunk is pretty decent.

It's just a few miles outside of the Dells. 5 minutes tops. There's a lot of nice restaurants in the Dells/Baraboo area. You might want to try Del-Bar, Ishnala, House of Embers or Field's. They're a little nicer. There's also Moosejaw Brewery if you want pub food. Hope it helps.

Good ideas for dining in the area include:

1-The Ravina Bay (?) - If it's nice, ask to eat outside. Right across the bay from the Tommy Bartlett Skow, you get free entertainment if scheduled around show times.

2-Sarento's Italian at The Wilderness - Better food than Field's at the Wilderness, and much less expensive. You won't have people serving you in tuxedos, but you won't pay $75.00 apiece either.

3-The Del-Bar - Usually amazing food, with a nice atmosphere, as long as it's not too crowded. Try to avoid weekend nights, since it tends to get a little loud. Pricier than the others, but a very nice place to eat.

4-River's Edge Bar & Grill - Off the main drag, and located near the river, there's no real view, or even great menu options to speak of. They do, however, have some of the best food there is. Extremely laid back, with a wall-length aquarium to keep the kids entertained.

5-Famous Dave's - A tiny place right on the strip, and the seating's a little tight. But, easily the best BBQ ribs, chicken and beef in the area. With a wide array of sauce types to try, it's a great "to-go" meal to take out to the drive-in theater.

Check out glenvalleylodge.com. It is an excellent place for group lodging and only 20 minutes from the casino, 10 minutes from Baraboo. It is a great, secluded place to stay and close to all businesses. I know they are pretty well booked but you might want to check it out anyway! Good luck, Mary
