Their web site seems to say they are open to the public.
You might check with them. They also offer tours on certain days. You can find that on the web site too.
Someone local to there may give you better details.
Yes, it is open to the public now. The grounds are just
beautiful...lots of photo opps there.
And of course inside....well it's an amazing place!! It is so much fun to wander around, investigating the hallways, and every nook and cranny...so much to see. The employees are very nice, polite and extremely helpful.
Two of my favorite areas are the indoor pool and the "Dolhouse" that is outside on the grounds.. (a teeny, tiny house filled with miniature dolls and toys, so cute)
We are going there sometime this summer for the afternoon too by the way.
Just got back from The Greenbrier. Yes, it is once again open to the public.
For lunch, Drapers is my fav. They have a fried green tomato sandwich that is absolutely heavenly.
You can also get lunch at the Golf Club (by the tennis courts and pool) and at the pool.
The Main dining room only does breakfast and lunch. The 1 or 2 new restaurants are not open yet. Not sure, but when open they may only do dinner.
Soooo glad to see, that despite previous info from staff, the Main Dining room remains. Word was that it was going to be made into 2 restaurants.
If you have time, take one of the walking tours. Interior tour takes 45 minutes and is only of the main level, but it is very interesting.
Also, check out the museum on the hill by the shops on the hill. There are other shops in the lower level of the hotel as well as some near the tennis courts.
Sorry - typo
"The Main dining room only does breakfast and lunch" should have said "breakfast and dinner" - NOT lunch.
yes most definately you can walk around, shop and have lunch. the property is open to the public. and there is a lot you can do during the day.
