Village Walkability from North and South Mountain Lodging

I've never been to Snowshoe but am studying the "Neighborhood Locations" page on the website snowshoemtn.com/plan-your-trip/getting-here/… for a 2014-2015 ski trip.

Right now the effort is being put into finding suitable locations for a condo search. The only thing we want in regard to location is the ability to walk (not shuttle) to the Village. We also want true ski in/out but Village access is important for the non skiers in our little group.

1. Can you walk to Village from the North Mountain area? (Camp 4, Whistlepunk, Powderridge, Powder Monkey, Black Bear Crossing, Stemwinder, Land's End, Summit, Shamrock, Sundown Hutches, Mountain Crest, Pedestal House and the Ridgewood condos)

2. Can you walk to Village from South Mountain area? (Soaring Eagle Lodge, Logger's Run, Timbers, Snowcrest, Leatherbark, Wabasso, Treetop and Top of the World)

Your insight is greatly appreciated.

You might want to go back to that site and look at "resort map". The Village is where Highland House, Rimfire and Allegheny Springs is. From the North Mountain area only Whistlepunk, Stemwinder, Powder Monkey, Lands End and Summit would be walkable. In the South Mountain, Treetop and Leather Bark are walkable. BUT...if the weather is very cold (which it is a LOT there in Winter) or snowy..(ditto)..that "walk" would be very long. Any of the others you mention are definitely too far to walk. Try to stick to the Village lodges if you can. Highland House, Allegheny Springs, Mountain Lodge, and Expedition Station are all ski in/out.

Thanks for the insight. I'll certainly check the condos we consider against the Resort Map online and try to get as close to the Village as possible.

Again, thanks!
