Any unusual thing to see/do?

Will be in Huntington Sat. and wondered if there are any neat things to do, maybe a food market like "Whole Foods" in Columbus, or Trader Joes, that type of thing. I see that the mall has standard stores only.

Maybe 20 minute drive east on I 64 is Blenko Glass. Might check schedule to see if they're open. Fun to watch them hand blow glass items.

Maybe not for everyone but if you like a little humor with your meal you could try one of the Hillybilly Hot Dog locations. Our favorite one is the one in Lesage. Exit 18. RT 193 over to Rt 2. North 2 miles.

P.S. The place is cleaner than it looks.

If the weather is decent, maybe a walk around the campus of Marshall University. Visit the Memorial Water Fountain behind the student center. (In memory of the whole football team, coaching staff and airplane crew killed in plane crash in 1970) Its a pretty campus, easy walk.

Head over to Pullman Plaza on 3rd Ave. Nice shops there...bookstore, Starbucks. Maybe a walk or drive around Ritter Park. Lots of people there on nice days. Might stop in Saads Market near the park. Some Lebanese items in the deli..very good. Say hi to Phillip and Eric there. Nice guys!!

I like beachlady's idea of visiting the memorial fountain. If you haven't seen the movie "We Are Marshall", rent it and get a feel for how the plane crash efftected the football team. Stars Matthew McConaughey as the coach who tries to rebuilt the team.
