I 64 East Ideas

Coming from cave city Kentucky via I 64 East and headed to new river gorge. Looking for recommendations of things to do along the way;

, sights to see,etc. Traveling with our 2 teenagers. We enjoy most outdoor activities, not lots of crowds and don’t mind off the beaten path adventures.

Additionally any recommendations as to which part of new river gorge to explore would be great. Thinking we might do a white water rafting trip if we can find a beginner or intermediate option. We will most likely be in the area for about 2 days before heading to South Carolina.

Thanks in advance for any help

Got good answers here...

Also...maybe Camden Park just outside Huntington on I-64.

In Beckley is a really cool mini golf course. Exit 44 on the main road. Maybe one mile from the interstate.

The ghost town of Thurmond is a great off the beaten path adventure- it's a great way to spend a couple of hours. Pretty scenery, a little history, and slightly spooky.
