Have any of you stayed at the Davenport original hotel or the Tower, if so what did you think and is the tower as nice as the main hotel?

We stayed there in the original building about 2 years ago. Loved it!!! Our room was beautiful. Very spacious, beautiful bathroom with an enormous spa type shower. We had room service one evening, and then breakfast in The Palm Court downstairs which was very good. I would absolutely stay there again. I don't know anything about the tower so can't help with that.

The tower is fairly new and very different than the original, stay in it if you can many locals book a night out there just for the experience, attention and uniqueness of it.

I have stayed in both, as noted, Tower much newer with theme (africa/safari). I much prefer the older, classic hotel which also has better bar and more classic dining.

one question, i am under the impression the pool and hot tub is in the main hotel , is that correct? I suppose it's a bit of a hassle to have to go to a separate building but no guarantee your room in the main hotel would be near the pool either.

That's why I suggested you call them and ask about the Towers availability to the pool area just to see if it would be a hassle for you.
