10 Washington trip

My husband & I are planning a trip to Washington and are wondering if we are trying to do too much in 10 days. So far, we plan on spending Wed and Thur in Seattle and then 2 days in Friday Harbor to do some kayaking. We are also planning on spending 4 days in Maza at the Freestone Inn to do some hiking in the North Cascades.

We have 2 more days to fill and was thinking about trying to see Olympic National Park...but I'm not sure if its too out of the way. Another option would be to stay longer in San Juan Islands, visit Victoria or go toward Mt. Baker...any suggestions would be really appreciated.

Thanks!

I'd go to Mt. Rainier or Olympic National Parks before Mt. Baker.

As your itinerary firms up, post again with details and we can comment.

San Juan Island has much to do/to see, but two full days is sufficient, including kayaking. See the list in the article:

I'd go to Victoria (with passports) for a very nice change of pace. You can get there from San Juan Island, Friday Harbor, - take the ferry to Sidney. I'd overnight in Victoria, so you have time to see the highlights and more.

If you include Victoria in your itinerary (see above article), you could take the Coho ferry to Port Angeles on the Olympic Peninsula, drive to Hurricane Ridge of Olympic National Park. Strongly suggest Coho ferry reservations in tourist season.

Hi..Thanks for the input.

How does this sound????

Day 1-2 Seattle

Day 3-4 Port Angeles...explore Olympic National Park

Day 5-6 San Juan Island...1 full day of kayaking..no idea how long it takes to get there from Port Angeles or what is the best way to get there???

Day 7-10 drive to Maza and hike in North Cascade NP

We love to hike and would like some relaxation...do you think this is a reasonable plan? Also, what is the best way to travel from Seattle to Port Angeles and Port Angeles to Friday Harbor? It looks a little complicated to get to San Juan Islands....how long do you think it would take?

Does anyone have any favorite hikes in North Cascades?

Thank you very much for you help!
