A few thoughts on this. Many places are usually filled by this time, so I would suggest calling places asap.

Do you want to be right in town, walkable to everything, or out a bit? If you want in town, one place that we have enjoyed many times is Pension Anna.

The website for Leavenworth is www.leavenworth.org, and if you go to the lodging section, you will find MANY places. There are a lot of very nice places in the area, but most are not walkable to the center of town. So it just depends on what you are looking for.

SSVP-

Check out my recent review on the Enzian Inn- we had a fabulous time there. We were able to book a suite within a week of our trip. I had kids with me, but it would be a wonderful, romantic place for 2 people as well. Good luck and have fun!

If you can't find a place to stay during the lighting festival, you could try to find a place in Cashmere (10 minutes away) or Wenatchee (25 minutes away). If you are flexible with your time, they also have the lighting cermony on Sunday's, and it is less crowded, and often easier to find rooms on Sunday night, since people go home on Sunday.

I second the Enzian Inn, we stayed there a number of years ago (was still called the Enzian Motor Inn back then), got a jacuzzi suite, and it was so nice. Right in town, close to everything, wonderfully comfortable bed, and of course, great hot tub in the room. We got the romance package including champagne, strawberries dipped in chocolate, etc. and it was lovely.

There really aren't any 'bad' places to stay. But like an earlier post said, they are probably booked. Most of the time you need to reserve holiday spots at least a year in advance. Wenatchee is great though....and would be much cheaper during the peak season. They have a great Holiday Inn that is right on the edge of town as you come in from Leavenworth.
