Coral bay at Xmas?

Hi all first time asking a question, but want to know how the snorkelling is at Xmas the wind sounds like it could be an issue plus the heat??

Some friends and I are happy enough to spend the days swimming and lazing on the beach but is coral bay that small? Would you reckon staying in exmouth would be better, which would mean we have to hire a car to get to the reef.

Plus any ideas on renting a house in coral bay?

Coral Bay is TINY.

The village of Coral Bay consists of a bakery, a bottle shop, a petrol station, a DEC office, a handful of tour operators, a few tiny cafes and shops, a small market, a caravan park, and a smattering of accommodation. A few places offer live music on certain days of the week.

It's the perfect place to snorkel, dive and lay about, but not the place for those easily bored or needing to be entertained. You basically walk from your accommodation and fall into the ocean - very easy access.

A list of holidays houses here:

Coral Bay in December wouldn't be my choice, but you might like it. It will be very hot and it's also cyclone season along the NW coast of WA.

Exmouth is larger (but not big by any stretch of the imagination), but yes, getting to the reef is more involved.

A car may not be necessary, as tour operators will collect you at your accommodation. You will need to arrange transport from Learmonth Airport to both Coral Bay and Exmouth though if you're not driving.

We were in coral bay for last new years.. The temp was about 30 degrees, sunny and

minimal wind. Just perfect!!

I love Coral Bay & as mentioned by Melq its tiny with just the beach, resort & a few shops. The Pub is a good place to hang out to meet up with other visitors but apart from that its called just relaxing & doing nothing but swimming & snorkeling..

Renting a house would be ideal. Coral Bay basically comprises a resort hotel, two caravan parks and about 20 houses.

You would need to book ASAP as with only a few rentals available you probably find its booked out.
