Diamond Resort - Kaanapali Shores

We purchased a Sampler Package from Diamond Resorts and are booked into the Kaanapali Shores Resort in mid April.

We are looking for pointers on the hotel and area.

Has anyone bought a resale timeshare at this place ? Or even own at the resort, before and after Diamond took over ?

Hello,

We also purchased a "Sampler" package in Las Vegas this last November and were verbally promised that "Availability is never a problem". Well probably like you, we are finding out that the Hawaii destinations are almost impossible to book but we did manage to secure a Kanapali Shores one bedroom for early January of 2014.

We also told the sales person that Cabo San Lucus Mexico, Maui and Kauai were our main interests and he said that the Sampler does not have Cabo as a destination.

But he did also throw in these 2 free week "complimentary" certificates that we could use for "any" destination that Diamond resorts owns, so we naively bought the whole Sampler package.

I couldn’t believe what we got for certificates. They were from this ‘dreamvacationweek” company that is not even part of DRI but just some separate snake oil company reminiscent of certificates we have all received in the past for listening to presentations. They came with the usual Black out dates and an added on “taxable rate” of like $40 a night and the only month open for Cabo was May.

The minute you click on a site, you have like 18 minutes to book with all transactions being final and no returns or refunds. Has anyone else been offered thes "free week" certificates?
