Planned Elopement Suggestions

We're from Ohio but want to get married in Napa/Sonoma Valley. It would likely be the 2 of us plus immediate family (9) so a total of 11 people. We're looking for somewhere (a winery) that will allow us to hold a small ceremony on-site followed by pictures (and pictures of the ceremony of course). We'd like to drink wine and have a small cake

We're going to hold a reception back in Ohio afterward so no need for a big reception in California. We'll probably just do a nice dinner. We're planning to stay 2 nights. We (as a couple) have done Napa before so no need for a tour or anything.

I don't need anything crazy of elaborate. What wineries offer small planned elopement packages for approximately 11 adults? We're looking to minimize cost.

Not sure this matters too much, but in terms of our wine likings...

**I drink dry whites (mostly Sauvignon Blanc type wines)

**He drinks heavy reds (Malbec, Syrah, Petite Syrah, etc)

Thanks :)

Wineries are not in the elopement business and are heavily regulated wrt what hospitality events can/cannot be conducted on site.

Your best bet is to engage a wedding planner who has connections in the valley. S/he will know which wineries, if any, can host the event you describe.

Here's a place to start:

Congratulations .....its wonderful and there are wineries that do elopement (or small wedding) parties.

enchantingelopements.com/winery-elopement/wi…

Bed and breakfasts also do these - some are larger.

Not sure of your budget, but perhaps look at for a start

Hans Fahden

For some inn possibilites

1801 First

Churchill Manor

Harvest Inn

and others

Yes, do look under elopement packages - in general, that is the term Napa uses for small weddings under 25 people to do some more research... Yes, the word elopment changes over times .....and its true that the older definition is described as above.

and if you do have a budget you are looking at - it might be helpful to give a range.

Small destination wedding venue?

Might couple that with "Sonoma" for a google search. And when I went to dictionary.com to look up "elopement" the following google ad came up:

Wine Country Elopements

with this link:

www.farmhouseinn.com/elopement-package/…

It then calls them "tiny weddings." It's not in Napa/Sonoma, it's in the Russian River area (I love the Russian River area; google must know that).

We did not elope to the Farmhouse inn but we have been there a few times and they have a wonderful restaurant with excellent meals and great breakfast and lovely spacious rooms and the Russian River area is to quote our UK friends. brilliant

This is the second elope post in a few days - the others are just the couple so agree with WhiteD that this sounds like a small wedding and not elopement
