Our cruise stops in San Juan, Puerto Rico for about 6-7 hours....where would you recommend (i.e. beach)
Culebra is another island and IMO not doable in 6-7 hours. The schedules for both flying & the ferry are very limited and don't always leave on time.
Agreed. In 6 or 7 hours you'll have time to spend in Old San Juan, or take a trip to El Yunque National Forest. Culebra is out of the question. Here's a list from our blog of reasonable shore excursions for a day in port in San Juan ... puertoricodaytrips.com/san-juan-shore-excurs…Edited: 9:04 pm, January 11, 2012
Culebra is a trip all of it's own. We have folks who book their entire two week vacation here & thus have time to relax & really enjoy al that Culebra has to offer. Culebra is very different than San Juan & the big island in general.
Agree, that with such limited time Old San Juan w/the forts (& even a few outlets-Coach, Tommy H., for shopping-if of interest).
Palmetto GH, Culebra
Ok, perhaps this was posted on the wrong forum and the OP meant PR in general, not Culebra . If that's the case, then based on the amount of free time, I would strongly suggest staying at the Old San Juan. There's plenty to do and see there: visit the forts, shop, try the local food and drinks, and enjoy the colonial architecture.
