What to expect

We're heading out to Fuerteventura (Corralejo) first thing tomorrow morning for our first holiday there. We'll likely be on the lookout for a few bars for tomorrow night so where would be a good place for a few drinks and entertainment? Is there any good music acts on tomorrow night we should be aware of? Any bar recommendations for our weeks break would be most helpful, thanks.

Also, what's the weather likely to be this next week? Been to the other Canaries this time of year and we're expecting some reasonably warm weather, cooler at night, much the same expected? Hope it won't be too wet during our stay, thanks.

Jambonian.

Weather first -

Friday is looking to be nice and warm but there could be rain on Saturday. After that it could be a bit breezy. See - http://www.yr.no/place/Spain/Canary_Islands/El_Cotillo~6692439/long.html and http://www.bbc.com/weather/6297185

Music - don't know about Corralejo but there are lots of places with music. If you get this on time try out Canela in the village of Lajares. There is the El Cotillo bus no 8 leaves every hour from Corralejo until 2100 and this drops you right outside the door of this bar/restaurant. The bar will phone for a taxi back. There is an open mic jam session of rock & roll, jazz rock and blues. There can be as many as 10 mostly excellent musicians on stage from different nationalities. It starts about 2000 and was still going last week at 2400. You can eat there as well. Beer and food are quite cheap

You will not regret the trip out. It is a great night. You can even take a taxi and this will only take 20 minutes.

I do not seem to have said in my post that these live open mic sessions take place on a Wednesday night (tonight)

If you enjoy football head to Corner House Sports Bar on the street opposite CC Atlantico (you will recognise this as this is where Flicks is)

If you like live acoustic music in a great bar with a friendly atmosphere, you can't beat Rock Island Bar. If you like a plugged in house-band covers type of bar Corner Rock and Rock Cafe will fit the bill.

If you like something more lively, loud and karaoke Flicks might suit you, the staff are really good in there. If you want a really late one, wakiki down on the seafront turns from a restaurant into a bar/club later on.

Have a great time, we've just got back and had great weather.
