Cala Dor - Restaurant and Bar Advice

Hi Cala D'or Forum ..

We're three 35+ ladies heading off to Cala D'or / Ferrera for a relaxed long weekend next week.

We'd really appreciate a few restaurant and bar suggestions as we've not been to this part of Majorca before and don't have a lot to time to search for the nicest ones.

We are looking for places that we can people watch, with a bit of life (but nothing tooo manic/cub like if possible). Fair prices and good food would be great. Any suggestions anyone?

Thanks, Sara

Head for the marina, Waves is probably your best bet for a classy bar, run by a classy English lady😇 Any of the restaurants on the same side fit the bill. Or the Old West for a good steak on the other side also Botavara never fails.

As you are in Cala Ferrera you will undoubtedly have a night in the town centre. Can Trompe is great for traditional Mallorquian food. It's the oldest restaurant in Cala Dor. It's on a junction in the centre of town and great for people watching. Right across from it is Cafeteria Plaza or the White Chairs as our kids used to call it! The drinks are cheap and measures are huge, and again a great place for people watching. Enjoy!

Hi Sara, yes, definitely get yourselves to the marina, some lovely restaurants there, plenty of people walking through as well. We're there all next week so will be along a few times ourselves. In terms of restaurants we just keep going back to either Aquarius or Portofino, both are excellent, and on the other side Old West, as Paul mentioned.

More in the centre, if you like tapas, give La Bodega a try, it's ranked 15th out of 151 restaurants in the resort on here, the food is so tasty, and it's in a very authentic setting > https://www.tripadvisor.co.uk/ShowUserReview…

For a decent bar in the centre, try Upstairs - literally up the stairs! There are also a few cocktail/ tikki bars around, you'll find them easy.

If you are in Cala Ferrera, do check out the legendary Felipe at The Carabel, happy hour from 8-12pm, if you're after some value drinks, plus it's a good laugh there.

Had a fantastic dinner in La Bodega last night. The face of La Bodega, Alfonso, is retiring after this season, although might be considering a few hours a day. Bet he can't keep away, well, hope that's the case, I think he's one of the characters of the resort.

Sunday and Monday this week we ate in The Mistral/Mestral restaurant in Cala Ferrerra both times excellent food and service with reasonable prices. One night I had the Hake fish and it was one of the best meals I have eaten anywhere, Great place to people watch as they walk past, also only steps away

from Eden Paradise an open air bar where tribute act perform, saw a couple and a good way to spend a couple hours
