Mijas or Javea for family of 5?

Hi, am asking for my sister who has no internet access at mo..arghh!!...she is looking at Javea or Mijas area, doesn't know which ot go for. Usually goes self catering in a villa, has 3 girls aged 11 - 17, not bothered about night life(discos)tho good restaurants/somewhere to walk or watch at night is good. Girls like swimming, sunbathing etc, also some water sports, went canoeing last year and snorkelling and boarding. They say they want to go in a villa with pool,as opposed to Eurocamp mobile (last years hol...surprisingly..more things for teenagers with Eurocamp?)

So..Javea or Mijas area? Anyone any views..and what to do there? Thank you very much

We stayed at Calpe for a holiday a few years ago, and visited both Javea & Denia. Neither place seemed particularly attractive, and all the restaurant signs were in German, then Spanish and then English. We enjoyed Calpe however, and stayed on the mountain overlooking the bay, absolutely beautiful. I now live in Benalmadena, close to Mijas, and all the emnities you wish for are in the area. There are all sorts of water sports, horseriding, and if you drive about 45 minutes inland there are mountains to climb, kayaking through the El Choro Gorge, hanggliding, and plenty of sunshine. There are over 20 blue flag beaches on the Costa Del Sol, all ethnic tastes in food are catered for, and the area is very safe for families.
