Ischia at the Abbey

Lovely to see today's royal wedding has an Italian connection - and an Ischian one at that!

Any minute now they'll be playing two pieces composed by Sir William Walton; 'Touch Her Soft Lips and Part', and - whilst the newly-married couple walk out of the Abbey - the 'Crown Imperial' march...

Sadly Lady Walton didn't live to see her husband's work again being performed in those magnificent surroundings, however the couple are commemorated by the glorious gardens she built at their villa - 'La Mortella' - here on Ischia, and the various musical foundations they endowed....

The groom's father has long been the patron of La Mortella - one of the jewels of Ischia, and an essential part of any visit to the island...

Yes please .have one for me in Bruno's bar.The music was good on the Abbey but I think i would ratherhear it in La Mortella.
