Good Meribel spas and restaurants?

Hi,

Could anyone recommend a good spa in Meribel for my daughters and I? Also can anyone recommend any restaurants?

Many thanks

Hi Olivia,

I don't know about Spas but I can recommend Le Refuge. It is a great restaurant - it is an informal pizzeria downstairs (best pizza in the 3 valleys) and a traditional Savoyard restaurant upstairs.

For more info about Meribel have a look on http://www.meribel-unplugged.co.uk

I posted a while ago for restaurant recommendations but nothing came up. the Meribel unplugged website looks handy. Daughter and son in law have recommended Galette, La Taverne, also Evolution/Jacks Bar and La Poste champagne bar, and a trip out to Le Bo a Mil. The Merinet website gives a couple of spas that look interestng.

La Galette - it has been a favourite of mine for the past 12 years. Wonderful Tartiflette, pizzas and many other things. Really really good. Book in advance.

Spas - Allodis or Yeti - boht near Rond Point on bus route to Altiport

Both above also have good restaurants.

Also some other suggestions to consider:

at Morel (1600):

Les Petits Oignons

Terrace bar at Hotel le Lac Bleu (beside chairlift at bottom of Hulotte piste)

Pizza 1600 - evenings only.

Chez Kiki (steak - not cheap)

Elswehere

Evolution (nr La Chaudanne - English)

La Farcon at La Tania (excellent)

Le Martagon (hearty - on bus route to Les Allues)

Le Refuge (Pizzas and steaks - Meribel centre)

La Croix Jean Claude (Les Allues) also En k and well recommended L'Arbe.

Les Castors (beside Tougnete lift)

Bistrot D'Oree at Rond Point

Have fun!

How about spa at Hotel l'Helios? Looks good on the Merinet site.

No experience of L'Helios but hotel is well located and relatively new. Also worth considering the brand new Kaila at La Chaudanne - and there are more... for example Le Grand Coeur (centre) and at the Parc Olympique.

Merinet is a generally reliable information source - also Meribel.net for lists.

Have fun!

Don't know if you are still looking for info but we are here now. Recommend restaurants Aux Petit Oignins, le Refuge, Evolution, le bo de mils. The terrace at Marie Blanche is brilliant on a sunny day and their restaurant excellent. Heading back home tomorrow and will write up reviews and a trip report. Not made it to any spas.
