Ko Chang to Siem Reap

How long does it take to get to the border crossing at Poipet and is that the usual route?

Usually you go through Poi Pet when you go from Siam Reap to Koh Chang. That takes about 2 hours.

The route is pretty direct, from the mainland pier to Chantaburi then head north to Aranyaprathet - the town on the Thai side of the border.

How long it takes depends on how you plan to get there. Somewhere between 3 and 5 hours depending if you use a private car or local bus service. Shared minibus is somewhere in the middle.

Forgot to say - just go to Googlemaps.com and use the Directions option - enter Ko Chang and Aranyaprathet or Siem Reap if you are going there, and you will have the most direct route that everyone uses.

We did the trip from Koh Chang to Siem Reap in April this year in a private van. From the bottom of the island to the Poi Pet crossing was around 4 hrs, with boarder crossing and waiting around at boarder agents and then finally to Siem Reap the total trip is 9 hrs and that is a private van with limited stops.I dont know how you could do the trip quicker than this,we where originally told 6-7 hrs this is not possible.
