Seafood Restaurants

Going to be in Falls Creek this weekend and am looking for a seafood restaurant. Nothing fancy just good crab and the like. Willing to drive 30 min if hae to. Coming from Michigan so love the east coast seafood. The more hole in the wall the better usually. Thanks in advance.

As a preface, you posted this in the Falls Church forum but asked about Falls Creek. I trust you are coming to Falls Church and mistyped, so this advice is geared to Falls Church.

Local crab is out of season at this point, but the crab houses should still have crab they fly in from elsewhere. 30 minutes gets you to lots of good options in Northern Virginia or downtown D.C. from Falls Church. If you only want crab you can try the Quarterdeck in Arlington; they've got "hole in the wall" down cold. They don't have many other options, however.

There are also crab houses in Alexandria and Fairfax, the names of which escape me at present. If you go into the Washington, D.C. forum and search for "crab," you'll see many recent threads on your options.

If you are OK with national chains, the Legal Seafood in Tyson's Corner and the Joe's Crab Shack in Fair Lakes are both consistently good. Neither is likely to have blue crabs, but both are likely to have king crab and other kinds of sea food.
