Hi, we are traveling through Vermont from 26- 29 oct and were wondering if there will be any fall foliage left by then.can you help us please.
Most likely no. Especially in Waitsfield. There may be a few trees with some leaves barely hanging on. If you drive to the Champlain Valley you might see some late color.
Agree with the above. It is very rare that foliage would be remaining on the trees anywhere in the state on those dates though it is possible. Most likely candidates: Lake Champlain valley and southern VT. Another possibility is the Berkshires in western MA, or even central MA.
When folks fill us in on their trip locations and dates, we often advise them to flip the dates so they head north first, and then head for their more southern destinations afterwards, though I do not know what your other travel plans are.
Thanks everyone- well, that would have been disappointing if we had done that. Would the Bennington area be any better or is it over there too?
Ok, I think we will drive form Niagara on the 25th to the Albury area for a few nights and do day trips from that area. Where would be the best little town to stay in for ease of day trips? And then we could hand in our car and catch the train back to NY. What do you think? Are there nice covered bridges/ scenic drives from here?
