Brew Fest/ Golf lodging options

OK, a small group of 30-something guys will be coming up in October and combining a day of golf with the Brew Fest. We'll likely stay at either the Inn of Six Mtns. or the Grand Resort Hotel? We're leaning towards the Grand Resort since it is right near the Snowshed lodge where the Brew Fest is. Also, is the Grand Hotel a walkable distance to the Wobbly Barn, Moguls, The Garlic, etc..? If not, what are some of our other partying options on the upper end of Killington Rd.?

We also, realize some of the establishments are seasonal and may not be open the first week in October. If anyone has a list of what is and is not open on the Killington Rd. we'd appreciate it.

Thanks in advance!

Have you confirmed availability for 30 guys first week in october? You may be left with Hobsons choice as October lodging can be fairly scarce by now.

The Grand Hotel is at the "top" of the Access Road so it's a couple of miles down the road to the 1st good nightlife bars. Across the street from the Grand is Santa Fe Steakhouse (& piano bar) and a huge sports bar in the Green Mountain complex, but for music, partying -- gotta go down the road.

Call Gramps Shuttle -- # is posted everywhere; I doubt "The Bus" will be running (travels the Access Road day & night), but it might for brewfest weekend. A couple of the bars have their own "rider" - a shuttle you call & they'll come get you & take you home for free.

The Wobbly & Pickle are closed, but some of the open spots are: The Lookout, Outback, Mogul's, Garlic, Grist Mill (bands), Casey's. There might be more that will open in October, too.

Don't know how big your group is but you might want to check into renting a condo or house - lots of them out there for groups! Enjoy!!

The Wobbly Barn opens Halloween night.

The Pickle Barrel opens "for good" in November; however, they have been known to open up for special events earlier than that. I believe they have opened up the night of the brew fest in the past.

The Inn of Six Mountains is further down the road from the Grand, but you will still need transport to the Pickle and Garlic. You could walk there (downhill) but coming back would bet tough (a couple miles uphill)!

Walkable and open, though still a little bit of a hike from the IoSM, are the previously mentioned Lookout and Outback. Kinda steep hill there, however.
