Sort of?

The Echo Lake Aquarium is kid-oriented.

Thank you. For some reason I thought it was only open seasonal.

You may be thinking of the nearby Shelburne Museum, which used to be open only spring through fall. Now it's open all year for some but not all (really, not most) buildings and displays. See the "visit" schedule.

Teddy Bear Factory also fun for younger children- just be prepared to purchase a bear ;).

Possibly the best children's museum in northern New England is the Montshire museum of Science in Norwich Vt, which is about 90 miles from Burlington.

I did ECHO with my boys a few years ago. It was a good mix of Science and Nature, and they enjoyed it

In nicer weather walks around the area outside would be great also. We were there in March.

It did not take the entire day,

Another vote for the Montshire Museum. Took my kids there years ago and it was superb. Well worth the drive and a few hours seeing the varied exhibits. :)
