Itineray Help for UK family please.

hi i am currently planning a trio next july/ aug 2013. this is where we would like to go but having looked at a map i think it would be quantity over quality which is not the purpose of our trip, Any D E 's out there please help. We will arrive in vegas 2 adults, 2 kids 16 and 13. We have done a road trip before so not complete rookies. No camps though it has to be lodges/ ranches ( would like to experience ). start in vegas after 3 nights, move on to hoover dam, and grand canyon ( any ranches to actually go in to it and poss raft?) and where abouts is the skywalk and is it any good.

then drive through zion to bryce, i think from the research i have done i would love to see a slot canyon is this the Navajo loop? also thors hammer. How many nights and where to see bryce/ any other must see's ie arches?

then how far on to monument vally and is ot worth it? #

I really fany Moab but i think to far, as then we would gp back to vegas for 2 / 3 nights prior to flying haome. Toatal nights about 18 ish.

Please help any ideas appreciated. Thanks .

I agree that you have too much time in Vegas, and I like Vegas. But realistically, it's not that fun until you are over 21 and actually allowed to play the slots and stand still on the casino floor, and have a drink. You will be ID'd even at the gambling classes where no actual betting takes place. So that said, I would restrict Vegas to a couple of days to walk the strip a bit, catch a couple of shows, maybe go to the gun range(ironic, your kids can't stand next to a slot machine whilst you gamble, but firearms are no problem). There aren't really many hidden delights in Vegas, so once you know what you want to do there, that's pretty much the max time you need. The big loop bookmarked on the forum would probably get you where you need to go and give you rough timescales. We did the glen canyon raft trip from page last time and really enjoyed it. Antelope canyon (probably the slot canyon you've seem pics of) is also in page area. I wouldn't miss monument valley; only takes abOut half a day to do the tour, but is one of my favourite places on the world.

I have a comprehensive Trip Adv 'Trip list' after my month in Utah last year, which also has links to the individual TA reviews I've contributed for the accommodation and attractions I visited.

I hope/think some of it is useful for you.

To search via TA, it is entitled 'Las Vegas to Zion, Bryce and other SUtah Natl Parks + Monument Valley-May 2011'.

BUT you can also access it via my TA profile name, then 'Trip list' under my 'contributions' list....

Also, please feel free to send me messages with any questions.
