Tuacahn Amphitheater

We are visiting St. George for the first time in early July and thought we might get theater tickets. But we are afraid it may be still so hot at night that we will be uncomfortable. No sense spending the money on tickets only to sit there wishing we were in our air conditioned room! Should we pass on this?

We went the end of July when the temps in St George were over 100. It might have been hot but I don't remember it being even the least bit uncomfortable. We had a great time. The theater is shaded and has a great backdrop. Go and enjoy the show.

Tuacahn is located farther up the canyon near Snow Canyon and usually has a cool breeze blowing from the Canyon later at night. I dont think there would be an issue with it being too hot. Its a beautiful area there as well.

Here is more info on Tuacahn.

Great Question!

The answers are spot on. It is usually warm in the area, but shouldn't be cause for too uncomfortable a time.

The shows last year were so phenomenal that you would regret missing them. I imagine it will be the same this year!

We live in Cedar City so much higher elevation than St. George and my mother would be happy living at the Arctic Circle. She begins to complain when the temperature goes above 75, yet she loves going to Tuachan and has never found it uncomfortable during the summer months.

The when the sun sets in the desert the temperatures begin to cool quickly and the stage backdrop of red rock offers a beautiful setting.

Also, the lack of humidity and bugs make it a lovely summer evening experience.

You'll be pleasantly surprised.
