Park City Free Transportation with a Toddler

We are planning a trip to Park City, UT in February 2008 with our 1 year old. We are staying out in Hidden Creek at the Canyons and weren't sure if it would make sense to rent a car or if we could rely on the free shuttle w/ a small child, skis, etc. Any advice? Also have family staying at the Park City Marriot and will be taking the child to daycare near Prospector area. Thank you!

A car would definitely be convenient. But the bus system is also very good. If you're staying at The Canyons, though, and shuttling to daycare in Prospector, that is a bit of a haul. If it's the daycare I'm thinking of, it's just down the street from the Marriott and both are right on the bus route.

Don't rent a car. The free shuttle is used by everyone, not just skiers, and for many people it's the only way they get around town. It comes often, goes many places, and then you don't have to worry about parking etc. It would actually be more of a problem to find parking and walk with your skis and baby. Right now, there's about 2-3 feet of snow on level ground. There's no street parking, and they're actually trucking snow OUT of town. I would not want to try to park a car. More snow coming next week.

The public transportation is very good, but the first thing you need to get is a schedule with times, etc. They are available at the transit center. There are many buses, and if you get on the wrong one, you can ride around a lot of extra minutes.
