Motel Accommodation

We are hopefully driving from Moab to Panguitch on 12th September taking in Scenic Byway 12 and was wondering how far in advance we have to book a motel room in Panguitch, Can we just turn up and hope there is availability? We are travellers from the UK arranging our own fly drive holiday. Recommendations please.

Hi

On my first visit to the amazing Southwest, in September, a fews years back, I just turned up in Panguitch and had no trouble finding somewhere to stay for the night. You'll find several motels on N. Main, perfectly adequate for a one night stopover. If you do want to book somewhere in advance try www.brycecanyoncountry.com.

How long are you guys over there? Where else are you going?

You'll never want to drive the M25 again!

Thanks for that Tony (fatbald). Our plan so far is flt to Denver, then Amtrak to SLC (stay 2 nights), hire car, drive to Moab stay 3 nights for rafting, Arches, canyonlands etc. All accom. booked in advance . Then! very flexible. Our thoughts were via UT12 to Panguitch (3 nights?) for Zion, Bryce etc then we have 12 nights to get to Denver via Kanab,North Rim ( Jacob Lake maybe), Page, Mexican Hat, (Monticello), Cortez, Durango then on via (??? suggestions) to Colorado Springs and Denver to return car and fly home to London. Does anyone have any comments on this itinerary or suggestions to make the most of our time in your spectacular national parks.

Tony.
