Forrest Gump Point

Please tell me how many minutes (or how many kms) do we drive to get to the Forrest Gump Point (where he stopped running) from the View Hotel? Any signs? My husband wants to take photos there.

You're probably thinking mile marker 13 on hwy 163. From The View it's about 4 miles back to hwy 163 near mile marker 0, less than 0.5 mile from the AZ-UT border. Then 13 miles north east into Utah.

You'll be looking back over your shoulder for the view to Monument Valley. It will become apparent as the road rises to that point; there are pull outs and most likely other people looking for the same point of view.

Total about 17 miles or 27km. Easy driving, say 20 minutes without other distractions.

Thank you Noel. As we will come from Grand Canyon, we will do this before we go to the View Hotel.

You realise those 13 miles are after the turn off to The View if you are coming from the Grand Canyon. Whether that matters depends on the rest of your itinerary.

Can I have some sympathy for being an Eagles supporter at the MCG last night? :(

Pictures from mm 13 are best early in the morning. There's no "Forest Gump Point sign." Just the roadsign 13. And there's a stall that sells Navajo stuff but prob unmanned if you get there early in the morning.
