las vegas and grand canyon family trip.

My husband, myself and 2 kids --11 and 8) are planing a trip to Vegas and Grand canyon. We are going for a week in July and want to do this on a budget if possible. Any suggestion would be helpful

Best way is to drive and stay inside the park if you can get a room at this late date.

Next option for accomodations will be outside the park in Tusayan. Although room rates might appear to be lower there, you save money by staying in the park if you can. Cost of visiting GCNP is $25 for the car load. You can hike and tour all day long for a week without paying for anything else. Plan to pack picnic food. That will save big bucks. Most visitors to GCNP find that 3 days is enough to see it all and have fun.

Proud of you R, not a mention of ...well you know.

ninfrtr, just a reminder that it will be hot in July. Temps in LV can get over 115 degrees. So keep that in mind as you plan activities. A hotel with a pool could be a necessity.
