We just wanted to share some facts from a recent incident at the Beachgate so that hopefully others can avoid the disappointment we have suffered.
My wife and had been long planning a special vacation in Port A, our favorite get away place. We booked a week at Beachgate since we have stayed there multiple times and they are pet friendly. We did not receive the reservation confirmation as promised and upon checking on this issue we were told they had no reservation for us. Further, they were unable to offer substitute arrangements during the week we wished.
After much inconvenience to ourselves and our Texas family with whom we were planning to visit, we were able to determine a different week that would fit our plans and during which Beachgate stated was available. Upon attempting to speak with the co-owner that I initially dealt with I was repeatedly told over a period of almost three weeks that he would call me back or the staff would speak with him and get back with me. None of this has happened and, for the record, we were not asking for a free stay or compensation for our disappointment and inconvenience.
After all this, about a week later our credit card we placed the room on and which we had used for many years was cancelled by the card’s fraud department and replaced. We have requested in writing that we be removed from all data bases of Beachgate and are advising friends, family and others of the situation.
